A finished painting

I always spend an hour or two on paintings-they are mostly quicker studies.  This time I set up a still life and took my sweet time with it.  It was set up with natural light, and I painted from life.  I changed tactics for this painting and laid all of the most saturated colors first and worked from there.  It was a great exercise as I tend to lose vibrancy in my oil paintings.

Portrait painting + guns and stuff

I decided to increase the amount I paint and expand my horizons a bit. It would be great to eventually be able to paint a portrait in oils. To work my way up I did some photoshop painting of a generic face to start figuring faces out- it's hard, and my process is not good. Anyway, I did it, and then added some armor and a gun because all my paintings are of fruit. Turns out I don't know what guns and armor look like- my best guess was metal trapezoids and rectangles:)
